The opiate epidemic continues to plague Salem and remains the number one health crisis in our community. Paul Prevey believes it is essential that City Hall and the mayor’s office work in conjunction with the Salem Police Department and the Salem Health Department to be a resource for individuals and families struggling with this disease.
Paul has spent seventeen years as a senior federal probation officer specializing in substance abuse and mental health. Massachusetts has left each city and town to deal with the opioid crisis on its own. Paul’s long professional experience with this epidemic is exactly what Salem needs to help heal the community. Paul is committed to aggressively pursuing a plan that puts Salem city government front and center in combatting the opiate crisis on the North Shore.
